Frequently asked questions about Night Flight Radio

Find answers to common questions about our broadcast times, how to submit requests, and partnership opportunities with Night Flight Radio.

Which station is Night Flight a part of?

Night Flight is a very successful lovesong radio show that previously aired on Ocean City Radio which is now defunct. It does however operate independently under the Ocean City Radio Community Interest Company banner.

Does Night Flight play requests?

Absolutely it does. The previous success of the show was built on its dedication to listener requests. In its previous years of broadcasting, the host could never play every request within the 3 hour window.

Where can I listen to Night Flight Radio?

The Night Flight Radio website will carry an exclusive link to the service on its front-page well in advance of launch day.

Is Night Flight available on DAB radio?

No. The costs incurred from broadcasting on the local DAB network coupled with the extortionate fees charged by PPL/PRS prohibit progression to DAB without bombarding you the listener with adverts for products that you have no interest in.

From where is Night Flight broadcast?

Night Flight is broadcast from the gateway to The South Hams on the eastern flank of Plymouth.

What happened to Ocean City Radio?

Despite our greatest efforts, Ocean City Radio became non-viable due to the extortionate fees charged for copyright licenses, DAB platform fees, studio rental and a whole host of other costs associated with operating a radio station. The lethal blow that ended our seven and a half year history was when our bank account was hacked and emptied. A crowdfunder appeal was launched which received tremendous support, but it was soon discovered that our original hacker was trying to infiltrate that too. Our only course of action was to return donations and concede that our battle was lost.
